Staff Spotlight: Cerena Mann

Every month we like to introduce one of our awesome staff members so you can get to know them better. This month, our Life & Health team member Cerena shares the harrowing story of her close encounter with a bull!

You won the lottery! What’s your first purchase?

A Corgi! I’m a bit dog crazy and don’t currently have one, so might as well start spending my fortune with a fluffy buddy!

Share one thing you love to do that you always strive to include in your daily routine.

I love my moments of solitude. I spend a lot of time with other people and I love those moments that I can spend just in my own company either at the beginning of the day to go over my expectations for what needs to happen or those moments at the end of the day in reflection. Although I do usually end up spending time on social media or reading some interesting article instead of introspection!

What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities?

I love watching or attending Seahawks games! My brother has season tickets and I bribe him into letting me tag along as often as possible. If I’m not cheering from the stands you’ll find me in front of my TV shouting my recommendations to the team and “friendly” comments on the referees’ pedigrees.

Tell us about one of your most memorable experiences.

My first Broadway play in New York. I’ve always loved theater but this last November I got to attend Anastasia on Broadway. It checked all of the boxes to fulfill a childhood dream!

What is your favorite Biggs story?

I love the story about Shannon’s stapler. When the department was moving from the first to the second floor her stapler disappeared and what subsequently happened reminds me of Office Space… but with less fire of course.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without?

Is it cheating to say a Kindle pre-loaded with every available How-To Guide ever written?

What does success look like to you?

Success is being content with your lot in life as well as having time to give something back to society. Whether it is raising children to be good citizens or volunteering your time to give back in any way, making a positive mark on the world around you makes you a successful person.

What was your first job?

My first job was working the front desk of a hotel in Billings, Montana. I met people from all over the world!

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Luck. With the superpower of luck you wouldn’t need to be bulletproof or super strength as everything you attempted would end up luckily succeeding!

What’s one challenge you’ve faced in life that you’re proud to have overcome?

Once had a bull chase me out of a field. I’m pretty proud I was able to outrun him as well as climb a fence before he was able to get to me!
