Staff Spotlight: Heidi Engleson

Heidi

Every month we feature fun facts about one of our awesome staff members so you can get to know them better. This month, we’re happy to present Account Manager, Heidi Engleson.

You won the lottery! What’s your first purchase?
Distribution first.  God, family/friends, a bit for my peeps at Biggs than off on a world vacation with at least one stop on every continent.  I’ll figure out what there is to see on a research lab in Antarctica.  I guess I should by a lotter ticket this month to put this to the test.

Share one thing you love to do that you always strive to include in your daily routine.
The first cup of coffee in the morning.  It doesn’t matter where I am, even camping I bring instant coffee and boil water.  Of course, I prefer frou-frou coffee so it’s usually a latte or something with a bit of flavored creamer.  In my former life as youth director the kids quickly learned all it took was a vanilla latte to bribe me.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without? My family if I’m allowed to bring them along in this scenario.  If not, I’m going with a survival kit that includes some sort of shelter, way to decontaminate water, food/hunting gear, and a communication devise to reach the outside world.

Is your favorite season spring, summer, winter, or fall – and why?
Fall.  I love the crispness in the air and hiking amongst the changing leaves.

What has been your most memorable vacation?
My family has started not giving big gifts to the adults and using the money saved to travel together.  Last Christmas we went to Hawaii and my 7 year old nephew and 80 year old grandma both went on a big zip line for the first time in their lives.  The pictures and videos of them zipping down the canyon in front of a waterfall are amazing.
